Person Specification:
You will have:
- Strong customer service skills (our customers are the most important thing to us; you gotta be nice to them!)
- Excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
- Understanding of, and passion for the arts, predominantly craft and design
- A good understanding of how to plan and hang an exhibition
- A creative flair for merchandising, and retail experience
- Good IT skills, and a knowledge of admin
- A good background knowledge of art, craft and design, and the ability to retain information about our artists to tell customers

Responsibilities:
The Gallery Manager is expected to ensure smooth running of the gallery. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the gallery, from helping customers to overseeing the successful planning and execution of exhibitions and events. The main duties include:
- Selling a wide variety of high quality original and limited edition art and craft work, including taking custom orders for clients
- Processing sales through sales book and into computer
- Creation of pricelists, folios and other materials to assist in sales
- Keeping the collection fresh and vibrant. This includes polishing & dusting artwork, and routine cleaning of jewellery.
- Ordering, and taking delivery of, art and other supplies, unpacking, stocking and merchandising
- General running of and maintenance of Gallery, including ensuring premises is open as per designated hours, letting classes in, cashing up
- Booking independent artists and tutors to run classes and workshops in the studio, organising classes and passing this information on the PR team to advertise classes in a timely manner
- Training of part-time staff, and supervision of weekend staff
- Administrative duties, and basic book keeping
- Creating and maintaining yearly plan, with 3 fixed exhibitions
- Identifying, liaising with, and booking independent artists
- Placing all orders with independent artists and arranging delivery
- Producing gallery events such as exhibitions
- Liaising with marketing and pr manager to produce marketing materials, ensure website up to date, and disseminating information through social medias
- Evaluating success of events and adapting yearly plan as appropriate
- Establish and maintain supplier portfolio including the establishment of supplier relationships
- As required, working with suppliers to identify stock items necessary for gallery
- Liaising and placing orders with other 3rd party members including window cleaners, packaging suppliers etc. in support of gallery
